Privacy Policy

FluffMatch ("we", "us", "our") helps pet owners meet, match, and chat for playdates, companionship, and breeding. This policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have. By using FluffMatch, you agree to this policy.

1. Information we collect

Account information. When you sign up, we collect your email address and a password (stored securely — we never see your password in plain text). You also choose a display name and may add your city.

Pet profiles. For each pet you add, we store the details you provide: name, species, breed, age, sex, size, temperament, purposes (playdate, companionship, breeding), bio, city, and the photos you upload.

Activity. Your swipes (likes and passes), matches, messages, and notifications are stored so the app can function — for example, to show you new pets, create matches when likes are mutual, and deliver your chats.

Device and usage information. We automatically receive basic technical information such as your device type, browser, and pages visited, including through the Meta Pixel for advertising measurement (see "Third-party services" below).

2. How we use your information

• To operate FluffMatch: accounts, pet profiles, swiping, matching, and messaging.
• To personalize your experience: showing nearby pets first and filtering by species.
• To notify you: email confirmation, like and match alerts, and product updates.
• To keep the service safe: preventing abuse, spam, and fake profiles.
• To measure and improve: understanding how the app is used and how our ads perform.

We do not sell your personal information to anyone.

3. Photos

Pet photos you upload are stored securely in our cloud storage and displayed to other users as part of your pet's profile — that is the point of the app. Only upload photos you have the right to share, and only of your own pets. You can delete a pet (and its photos) at any time from your profile.

4. Emails

We use your email address to confirm your account, deliver like and match notifications you have enabled, and send important service updates. Our emails are sent through Resend from noreply@fluffmatch.com. You can manage notification preferences in the app.

5. Cookies and local storage

We use cookies and browser local storage for essential functions: keeping you signed in, remembering preferences such as your sound/mute setting, and measuring site usage. These are required for the app to work and cannot be disabled without breaking core features.

6. Third-party services

We rely on a small number of trusted providers to run FluffMatch:

• Supabase — database, authentication, file storage, and realtime messaging infrastructure.
• Vercel — website hosting.
• Resend — transactional email delivery.
• Meta Pixel — advertising measurement so we can understand how our ads perform and show relevant ads. Meta may collect device and usage data per its own privacy policy.

These providers process data only to provide their services to us and are bound by their own privacy commitments.

7. Your rights and choices

• Access and correction: view and edit your profile, city, and pet details anytime in the app.
• Deletion: delete individual pets from your profile, or email us at hello@fluffmatch.com to request deletion of your account and associated data.
• Notifications: control like/match alerts in the app and mute sounds anytime.

8. Data retention

We keep your account and pet data for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, we delete your profile, pets, photos, messages, and notifications within a reasonable period, except where we must retain limited records for legal or safety reasons.

9. Children's privacy

FluffMatch is not for children. Accounts are for adults 18 and over (see our Terms of Service). We do not knowingly collect information from children under 13, and we will delete such information if we learn of it.

10. Security

We use industry-standard measures — encrypted connections, secure authentication, and access controls — to protect your information. No method is 100% secure, so please use a strong, unique password for your account.

11. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as FluffMatch grows. We will post the new version here with a revised "Last updated" date, and for significant changes we will notify you in the app or by email.
